MAKIN' MUSIC

We do what it says, for fun.      All instruments are welcome
Currently we have:
vocalists, guitars, keyboards, ukes, harmonicas
and an occasional cajon (it's a box played as a drum)
What we need:
flutes, whistles, strings, sax, brass, percussion
or more of the above ..... whatever you've got!!
Any level of ability is fine, as long as you can play a bit
You don't have to be able to read music

If you sing or play any sort of instrument, or used to and want to take it up again,
and want to join a group having a lot of fun makin' music , then give it a try

MILITARY HISTORY

We have 10 meetings per year, missing the months of August and December,
which limits our group to 10.
Each member gives a presentation of a miltary event of their choice.
From any period, it is not restricted to British history, it can be on a Battle,
a Conflict, or a War on Land, Sea or in the Air.

NORDIC POLE WALKING GROUP

Requirements:
A reasonable level of fitness, knowledge of the technique, Nordic Walking Poles and appropriate footwear and clothing.
Costs:
Minimal - transport, refreshments etc.
Details:
The group meets most Fridays for a vigorous 2 - 3 hour walk.
Nordic Pole walking provides low-impact whole body exercise.
Circular routes are found whenever possible usually finishing
with tea and cakes (optional!).

NORDIC SHORT WALKS

This is for those who prefer to not walk to far.
Most walks are only 1 hour but members still get the benefits of using poles
thereby exercising the whole body.

An opportunity to practice your Photography skills.   It doesn't matter if
you are a complete novice (as long as you have access to a camera) or if you
are nearly an expert.   We will be looking at composition and the technical
bits and each month we'll have a slide show of our achievements.

The group is open to anyone who is interested in and curious about all aspects
of science, technology and mathematics. We have a variety of programme
events including talks from group members, lecture visits to, for example, Cambridge University and visits to places e.g. Woolsthorpe Manor (Newton's home).
There will be an occasional cost of £1.50 for hall hire, and the costs of visits and travel.

SPANISH

Spanish for beginners and those with some knowledge, with the aim of building vocabulary, accent, fluency and a basic grammatical awareness. The cost is £1.50 which covers the hire of the room plus tea or coffee and biscuits!
